All The Scorebooks and Team Stats are Now Posted
And now we can tell you all that we've fixed the scoring issue with the pitchers - A starter can now (since 2007) get a win after completing 4 innings of 7. All of the pitching records should now be correct.

It took a little more time that we'd like, but a medical problem, and catching up with "regular life" delayed the posting of all of the game scorebooks until this week.

However, Individual Team Statistics are now up on the Team Roster pages - its the PDF file under the Team Picture.

And All the Scorebooks are up on the site also!

AND, we fixed the pitching on Game 16 and District III's stats too....

From the World Series Director, Martin Donovan
Now that the 2010 Senior Softball is over I want to thank each and everyone of you who put so much time and energy into making this Series a big success.

Those of you who were there 24/7 you deserve a big pat on the back.  The local leagues that participated in the Series you did a great job.

Congratulations to Georgetown and Lower Sussex for winning the District 3 Incentive Program.

The Lower Sussex Grounds Crew were outstanding.  The number of hours that they put in the fields were unbelievable even though they almost caused Nick to have a stroke when they painted the grass Saturday morning. The fields look great on TV. [ You can see how good they looked on the final game here ]

This year more coaches, team mothers and parents thanked me for the great time they had in Delaware.  I think that tells you how successful this years series was.

Thanks again to EVERYONE who helps

Last Inning Heroics Wins the Championship.
It was a game with only 2 earned runs, that was finally won on a strikeout with one runner on base.

Yes, quite a game, with two top pitchers, Henessy Soto and Vittoria Adams matching outs until the final inning.

In the final analysis, Southwest's Henessy Soto won the pitching battle, allowing just 1 run, and striking out 9 despite walking 3 batters, and hitting 3 more.

And East just couldn't hit Soto when it counted, especially with runners in scoring position. Taylor Corretjer and Samantha Wangenstein both doubled, but only Corretjer scored thanks to Brianna Rivera's RBI single. That was the only run East could bring across the plate.

All in all, it was a true Softball Championship. Great Pitching, good base running and some amazing defensive plays (the Double Play in the top of the 1st for starters).

After the game, Asia-Pacific was awarded the Sportsmanship award voted by the Umpires. The folks from Guam District 1 should be proud of their team!

So it's "Well done" to all 10 teams, this year for the first time in Roxana, every team won a game during the Pool competition.

You are all champions but Southwest's Northside Suburban Little League wins their 1st World Series Championship in Roxana. Thanks to all, and especially to the parents.

Without them, we wouldn't have Little League!

You can watch the entire game on ESPN3 replay here

Its NY vs Southwest in the Final
USA East faced off against Latin America this evening, the prize was an appearance on TV Saturday and a chance to win the 2010 Little league Senior Softball World Series.  This time the team from Haverstraw Little League New York was up to the challenge and and defeated the ASOFEM Little League girls, 5-2, holding off a bases loaded situation at the end of the game.

The East's opponent was decided in the game between Southwest, Northside Suburban Little League of San Antonio, Texas, and Central, District 11 of South Bend, Indiana, where Central never seemed to get on track. After walking the first 2 batters, the next two reached on errors, and all 4 scored unearned runs. Southwest never trailed again, adding 5 more runs in the 4th and 4 in the 5th to win the 10-run-rule game, 13-0.

So the TV game tomorrow on ESPN2 with Pam Ward and Cheri Klempf will be Southwest vs East starting at 11 AM. No tickets required - come on out and watch.

In the other two consolation games, West defeated EMEA 8-0 and the Host District 3 defeated Southeast 3-0.

The big shocker was Canada taking it to Latin America, 13-3 for their first win of the Series. The much improved Canadians scored 9 runs in the 4th inning to run away with the game.

Back at Layton Field, Southeast came from behind to defeat West 9-5 in a game that had been tied 5 all in the 5th before Southeast took command.
They had to overcome a 3rd inning Grand Slam home run by Ariana Zatarain which had knotted the score.

And the other shocker was Central's 16-0 win over the Host District III team. The game was close, 4-0 in the 6th before Central unlimbered their bats and 12 runs to secure the win.

    Day 3 Results [8/10]
At Connie Mack Tuesday: The much improved Canada team came within one run of beating the SouthEast - 6-5 was the final as southEast stays alive in the pool.

In the 2nd game, East took care of business beating Asia Pacific 7-0.

At Layton, District 3 worked hard to finally beat EMEA 7-3. The girls from Germany played tough and never gave up.

    Day 1 Results [8/8]
The crowd gathered for the opening ceremonies, and then the games began.

First up, the Host team from Laurel took on the East team from Haverstraw, NY and scored just one unearned run to start off on the plus side with a win.

Then it was Canada vs the West. Canada played the ladies from Tucson tough for a a while before they started stroking doubles (8 in all). Canada couldn't keep up and fell to the West 8-3.

Over on Connie Mack Field, The Southeast and Southwest squared off in a game that ended 4-3.

In the nightcap, Central flexed their bats, rolling up the EMEA team, 12-0.

Canada and EMEA are back in action in the morning, along with a full slate of games that start at 10 AM to beat the afternoon heat and humidity.

    Sky Brady Returns
Every year the Little League Senior Softball World Series holds a "get aquainted" party for all of the participants and coaches, and every year, Delmarva DJ Sky Brady provides the entertainment.

Sky "rocks the house" with his well known brand of dance and other contests, and a wide selection of music. The crowd at the World Series includes girls from Latin America and the Far East, as well as Europe and Canada, so the musical tastes can vary - Sky puts it all together for several hours of fun.

No, its not an open party, but the crowd of participants always have a good time, and the girls even find out that their coaches can dance.

Sky Brady's web site is www.skybrady.com

Carl M. Freeman Foundation Renews Support
Once again, the Carl M. Freeman Foundation has renewed their Diamond Level support for the 2010 Little League Senior Softball World Series.

Citing the need to continue the Freeman's participation in youth organizations in Sussex County, the Foundation requested and the World Series Committee agreed to work together on events in the county that will meet both organizations' needs, including helping the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation's programs in 2010.

The Carl M. Freeman Foundation's grant continues a six year tradition of support for the World Series in Roxana. Josh Freeman and the Freeman Companies were one of the first sponsors who helped finance the original 7 day event. Grants from the Freeman's have helped upgrade facilities at Lower Sussex Little League, as well as provided housing for the tournament participants.

The Committee of the World Series thanks the Foundation for their important assistance.
